PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Dank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Pitstulka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitstulka has chosen YMCA as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Steve Pitstulka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Dank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Pitstulka!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitstulka throws a hook but Dank blocks it.
Dank shoots for a takedown but Pitstulka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dank keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Dank feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've been hearing that Dank has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Pitstulka is looking to stand up but Dank isn't so interested in that idea.
Pitstulka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dank throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pitstulka works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dank drops back looking for a leg! Pitstulka is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pitstulka manages to kick Dank off! Dank jumps back into Pitstulka's guard.
Dank trying to control the position from guard on top but Pitstulka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pitstulka looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dank trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pitstulka keeping moving, preventing Dank from controlling successfully.
Dank works over Pitstulka with some ground and pound from guard.

Dank is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pitstulka is just riding it out for now. Dank eventually gives up the hold.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pitstulka can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dank throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pitstulka wants to get back to his feet.
Dank looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Dank is keen to just control but Pitstulka is a slippery customer.
Dank is really struggling to control Pitstulka but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Dank is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pitstulka is in a horrible position here. Dank smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dank throwing strikes here but Pitstulka is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Dank lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pitstulka hang on?

Dank has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pitstulka's face.

Dank has hold of Pitstulka's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pitstulka manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dank lands a big elbow.
Dank takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dank has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dank scoring with strikes but Pitstulka is staying in there.
BOOM! Dank connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dank cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
You get the feeling that Pitstulka really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Dank raining down shots from the mount!
Pitstulka is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dank wants to control the pace but Pitstulka is squirming around nicely.

Dank is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Dank!
