Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Reilly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crunch! Reilly slams his shin into Bishop's torso. Reilly scoring well with a low kick there.
Reilly misses with a few strikes there.
Bishop drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Reilly defends it well. Reilly connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Reilly misses with a low kick.
Bishop with the counter takedown but Reilly avoids it easily. Reilly tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Bishop drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Reilly defends it well. Bishop takes a jab right on the kisser.

Reilly looks to throw the jab but Bishop is out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bishop doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bishop has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Bishop slips a jab from Reilly. Reilly misses with a double jab.
Bishop feints the counter takedown. A swing and a miss from Reilly. Bishop doesn't succeed with the takedown and Reilly counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bishop gets tackled into the cage by Reilly. Reilly maintains the clinch. Reilly leaning his opponent against the cage. Reilly breaks from the clinch.
Bishop avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bishop changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Reilly looks to score with a jab to the body but Bishop is just out of range. Bishop tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Ray Reilly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bishop uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Reilly. Bishop feints the counter takedown. Reilly takes a swing at Bishop's ribcage but misses. Bishop drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Reilly wants to control but Bishop postures up. Bishop creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Reilly sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Reilly takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Bishop is trying to ground and pound but Reilly uses the momentary lack of control by Bishop to regain half guard. Nice strikes from Bishop there. Bishop wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reilly keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bishop perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Bishop sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Reilly defending well though. Bishop tries to pass to full mount but Reilly defends it. Bishop keeps trying to improve his position. Bishop is still trying to improve position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bishop looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice jab there from Reilly. Reilly throws the left hand but Bishop avoids the punch easily. Bishop is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Reilly seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Bishop is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reilly's half guard. Still in half guard, Bishop seems content to control. Bishop not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bishop trying to pass the guard but Reilly defending well. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

A head kick misses from Reilly. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bishop is defended easily by Reilly. Reilly tries to clinch up but Bishop circles away and keeps his distance. Ray Reilly is winning the standup battle so far. Reilly is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reilly has closed the distance and engaged Bishop in a clinch.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Bishop has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Reilly escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Bishop counters with a nice double leg into side control. Reilly won't be happy with that. Reilly avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bishop. Sloppy strikes there by Bishop. Reilly is trying to escape the position but Bishop is controlling the position. Bishop fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reilly dodges the ground and pound from Bishop. Bishop is trying to ground and pound but Reilly uses the momentary lack of control by Bishop to regain half guard. Bishop looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop seems to be working for a kimura but Reilly defends the submission attempt. Bishop missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Bishop tries to pass to full mount but Reilly defends it. Reilly is in trouble now - Bishop has advanced to mount! Bishop unloading with bombs!

The referee warns Reilly that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Bishop pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Bishop lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reilly hang on? Reilly is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop controlling the pace for now. Bishop trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bishop can't control as he wanted to and Reilly manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Bishop prevents Reilly from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reilly makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Reilly. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryan Bishop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bishop is defended easily by Reilly. Bishop goes for a double leg but Reilly avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Reilly continues to drive forward. Reilly looks for the body kick but Bishop saw that one coming. Bishop drops his hands momentarily and Reilly takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bishop shoots in and drives through. Reilly sprawls well. Ray Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Bishop. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Reilly, as that shot connected.
Bishop takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Reilly throws a lazy head kick so Bishop counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Reilly avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bishop throwing strikes but missing. Bishop trying to control the position from guard on top but Reilly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop throwing strikes but missing. Bishop pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reilly is keeping the position for now. Bryan Bishop has got the better of the ground game so far. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bishop postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Reilly throws a poor cross that misses
and Bishop counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bishop lands a nice short elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reilly moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bishop throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bishop trying to control but Reilly is working from the bottom. Bishop passes easily into side control. Nice work. Bishop lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Reilly down.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop looks up at the clock and then as Reilly takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bishop smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Reilly is being controlled here. Bishop working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Reilly wants to control but Bishop postures up. Bishop wants to control but Reilly is keeping him busy. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reilly is trying to control Bishop's posture but Bishop avoids it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Bryan Bishop. I think Bishop has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
