These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Collen Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pearson rushes Chambers and presses him up against the ropes.

Pearson has hold of one of Chambers's legs. Chambers is fighting the takedown attempt but Pearson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Pearson tries to free his leg and advance position but Chambers is retaining full guard.
Pearson wants to control from the top but Chambers keeps moving.
Pearson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Chambers looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chambers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chambers thows a huge punch but Pearson dodges it nicely.

Pearson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chambers is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Chambers wants to control but Pearson is keeping him busy.
Chambers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Chambers thows a huge punch but Pearson dodges it nicely.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pearson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Pearson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chambers on the ground.
Chambers not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Chambers throws a head kick that misses.
Pearson keeps the fight on the outside.
Chambers throws a combination. Pearson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like James Pearson has been cut.
Collen Chambers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chambers waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pearson.
Pearson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chambers.
Pearson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Chambers throws a poor cross that misses
and Pearson counters with a series of strikes. Chambers will be more careful next time no doubt.

Pearson closes the distance and clinches.

Chambers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pearson slips a jab and a cross from Chambers.
Pearson lands a right hook to the body.
Chambers looks winded!
Pearson checks a low kick from Chambers.
Chambers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pearson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Pearson rushes Chambers and presses him up against the ropes.

Chambers breaks the clinch.
Pearson connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Chambers out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Pearson!
