Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Therion - Sitra Ahra as his entrance music. Peter Walter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 23 - 1, fighting out of London, Peter Walter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Smith! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smith napping and manages to drive through into side control! Walter lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walter tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well. Walter throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Walter throwing shots but missing, from side control. Walter swings around for an armbar but Smith sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Walter's guard. Walter wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Smith is now in half guard. Walter is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter trying to control but Smith postures up.
Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Walter controlling the position for now. Walter wants to sweep but Smith has passed to side control! Walter is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Walter is not content to let Smith control the position. Smith working away. Smith trying to control the action but Walter is working from the bottom. Walter tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Walter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one. Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Smith misses with an uppercut
and Walter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith lands with a cross. Walter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walter goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smith has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Walter but great work by Smith.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter tries to get back to half guard but can't. Walter manages to get back to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith prevents Walter from improving his position. Walter looking for submissions off his back. Walter tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Peter Walter will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Walter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smith's guard. Walter is in close to Smith's body, working some short punches and elbows. Walter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Walter throws a big right hand that misses. Walter postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it. Walter is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walter throws a big elbow that misses. Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Walter. Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Walter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith is looking for a triangle but Walter pushes his legs off easily.
Walter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Walter throws a big right hand that misses. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Walter throwing strikes from guard but Smith blocks nicely. Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Walter throws a body punch but Smith moves out of range. Walter misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Walter has a takedown stuffed. Mike Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Walter closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Walter pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Walter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Smith throws a lazy right hand but Walter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Walter attempts a counter takedown but Smith avoids it well and moves away. Smith connects with the punch. Walter throws a left and a right that both miss
and Walter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Walter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith jabs Walter to the body, keeping him at a distance. Smith ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Walter manages to avoid it. Smith throws a lazy uppercut
and Walter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Walter. Peter Walter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Walter is looking to advance position but Smith has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Walter avoids a series of strikes thrown by Smith.
Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Smith throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith controlling the pace for now. Smith trying to control but Walter is having none of it. Walter keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Walter is working hard here to advance position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Mike Smith will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
A nice inside leg kick there by Smith. That's going to slow Walter down. Walter fails with the takedown and Smith counters with a straight right hand. Mike Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Walter goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward. Smith takes a swing at Walter's ribcage but misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Walter does a little dance to reset his feet. Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walter moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith keeps the fight on the outside. Nice sprawl there from Smith as Walter shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Walter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walter shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Walter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from Walter, before circling back to the center of the mat. Walter blocks a head kick by Smith.
Walter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Walter shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense. Walter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Walter with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab. A jab from Smith finds it's way through Walter's defenses. Smith throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Walter's head.
It looks like Peter Walter has been cut. Smith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Walter moves forwards but Smith connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walter takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Walter is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith throws a head kick that misses. Oh Walter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet. Smith has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Smith lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Walter falls backwards - clearly groggy! Smith dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Smith! Mike Smith gave a mention to GREEN!160 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
