Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reggie Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kannas looks for a takedown but Coleman sprawls well.

Coleman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kannas has managed to free his arm - good work.

Coleman wants to work for an arm triangle but Kannas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kannas is pressing down on Coleman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coleman wants to control from the top but Kannas keeps moving.
Coleman wants to stand but Kannas is controlling his posture from full guard.

Coleman postures up.
Coleman is looking to pass into half guard but Kannas pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kannas is in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coleman wants to get back to his feet but Kannas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kannas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kannas wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.
Coleman can't keep his opponent in guard - Kannas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kannas keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Kannas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Coleman keeps working.
Kannas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Kannas landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Nice strikes from Kannas there.

Kannas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Kannas is working for a kimura but Coleman is defending it quite comfortably.
Coleman tries to kick Kannas off but Kannas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kannas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kannas thows a huge punch but Coleman dodges it nicely.

Kannas lands with a punch from half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kannas looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Kannas wants to work for an arm triangle but Coleman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Kannas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Coleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Kannas tries to sprawl out of it but Coleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kannas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kannas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kannas is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Coleman as he works his way to full guard.
Kannas is in close to Coleman's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Antero Kannas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coleman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kannas off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kannas moves into range and clinches up with Coleman.
Coleman tries for a takedown. No joy.
Coleman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kannas pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Antero Kannas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Coleman.
Kannas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Coleman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kannas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Reggie Coleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Coleman swats away the attempt to clinch by Kannas.
Coleman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kannas.
Coleman with the counter takedown but Kannas avoids it easily.
Kannas lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Kannas drops Coleman with a big left hand! Coleman is injured, injured bad! Kannas jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
