Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Blackwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dai Evans!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackwell scores with a hook.
Blackwell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Evans avoids the head kick by Blackwell.
Blackwell throws a head kick that half lands.
Blackwell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Evans lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Blackwell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Blackwell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.
Blackwell throws a series of punches but Evans avoids them all with ease.
Evans swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Blackwell fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Evans checks it well.
We've been told by Blackwell's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Evans connects with a good right hand that stumbles Blackwell. Blackwell circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Evans takes a swing at Blackwell's ribcage but misses.

Blackwell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Evans lands with a straight right. Blackwell didn't see that one coming.

Blackwell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Evans has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Blackwell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Evans counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Evans scores with a sloppy right hand. Blackwell should have avoided that one.


Blackwell is rocked!
Blackwell thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Evans if he has to take too many more of those.
Oh Blackwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Evans avoids the head kick by Blackwell.
Blackwell seems to have got his legs back now.
Blackwell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Evans has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Blackwell throws a nice looking combination but Evans bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Blackwell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Blackwell missing with a left hand there. Evans was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Evans just misses with a punch to the body.
Blackwell throws a nice head kick!
Evans checks the leg kick nicely there.
Blackwell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Blackwell takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Evans steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Blackwell is out on his feet! Evans sets himself and nearly takes Blackwell's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dai Evans!
Dai Evans bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
