Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Klinkhammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Opie River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying River's choice of entrance music: Skillet - Monster . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Roberto Klinkhammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Opie River! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klinkhammer lands a nice shot to the body.
River throws a leg kick but Klinkhammer checks it. A jab lands there for Klinkhammer. Klinkhammer throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

River cracks a nice hook into Klinkhammer's ribs. Klinkhammer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Klinkhammer lands a head shot. River fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Klinkhammer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. River ducks right into an uppercut from Klinkhammer. Klinkhammer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. River feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Klinkhammer is controlling River's posture. Klinkhammer has momentary wrist control but River slips an elbow through the middle. River postures up and lands a big shot to Klinkhammer's brow.

River throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Klinkhammer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. River working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. River is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. River lands a couple of elbows. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw River working his ground and pound in the gym. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as River accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Klinkhammer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. River pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Klinkhammer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. River swings widly with a right hand
and Klinkhammer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps River thinking. Klinkhammer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck River on the side of the head. River jabs at Klinkhammer's body. River tries to close the distance and clinch up but Klinkhammer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Klinkhammer throws a lazy right hand but River sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. River tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. River avoids the body shot from Klinkhammer.
River steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Klinkhammer. Opie River seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. River moves out of range as Klinkhammer strikes. It's hard to tell if that hurt Klinkhammer or not. River goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

A close round but Opie River will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Klinkhammer throws a looping overhand right but River ducks down to avoid it. A nice inside leg kick there by River. That's going to slow Klinkhammer down. River lands a lovely overhand right. Nice takedown defense from Klinkhammer. No joy for River on that attempt. Klinkhammer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
