Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Parker Farmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farmer tries to clinch up but Davidson circles away and keeps his distance.
Davidson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Farmer throws a nice head kick!
Farmer thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Davidson if he has to take too many more of those.
Farmer throws a head kick that half lands.
Farmer misses with a few strikes there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Farmer.
It seemed like Davidson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Farmer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Davidson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davidson wants to clinch up but Farmer keeps it at a distance.

Farmer throws a nice looking combination but Davidson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Davidson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Davidson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Farmer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davidson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davidson's back!

Davidson is trying to get back to his feet but Farmer has full control of the position and if anything, Davidson has just worked his way into a worse spot.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Farmer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davidson circles away quickly and effectively.

Davidson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Davidson looks to land a combination but Farmer avoids it well.
It looked like Farmer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Davidson leaves Farmer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Davidson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
