Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Horton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Melcher!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horton dodges the punch combination from Melcher.
Nice takedown defense from Horton. No joy for Melcher on that attempt.
Melcher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Horton falls off balance throwing a combination
and Melcher counters with a one-two to the body.
Horton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Melcher circles away quickly and effectively.
Horton misses with the combination.
Horton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Melcher shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Melcher showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Melcher stands up out of the half guard.
Horton misses with a two punch combination.
Horton fails to land with a series of punches.
Melcher tries for a takedown but Horton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
It looked like Horton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Horton slaps away a takedown attempt from Melcher, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tim Horton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Melcher.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Melcher. Horton shrugs it off though.
Danga de danga de dang - Horton scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Jon Melcher has been cut.
A combination from Horton does no damage.
Horton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Melcher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Horton tries to avoid it but Melcher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Horton to the ground. Horton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Melcher doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Horton lands with a big left! Melcher is wobbled badly! Horton comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Melcher to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tim Horton!
In defeat, Jon Melcher stepped up to the mic, saying 'We tried. We failed. I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!'.
