Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Crose McCringe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Rodelin! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCringe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rodelin paws at him with a jab and circles away. McCringe fails with the takedown and Rodelin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rodelin. Rodelin preventing the sweep. McCringe pulls Rodelin in close to prevent any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McCringe is on top in guard.
McCringe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McCringe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. McCringe slips nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodelin is holding on to half guard well. McCringe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rodelin sees it coming and defends easily. Rodelin is pressing down on McCringe's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rodelin holds on and takes a little breather. McCringe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodelin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rodelin is looking for a triangle but McCringe pushes his legs off easily.
Rodelin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rodelin keeping moving, preventing McCringe from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rodelin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McCringe is controlling him. McCringe wants to pass the guard but Rodelin is keeping the position. McCringe trying to control but Rodelin is working from the bottom. McCringe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rodelin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McCringe's guard. McCringe being controlled here, momentarily. McCringe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McCringe. McCringe wants to control the position but Rodelin says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Rodelin not doing much here.

Brian Rodelin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
McCringe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rodelin is fending him off so far but McCringe persists. Nope, Rodelin circles away and we're back to standing. Crose McCringe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McCringe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rodelin sprawls well. Rodelin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McCringe gets slowly back to his feet. McCringe shoots in for a takedown but Rodelin shows good takedown defense. McCringe gets caught flat footed, as Rodelin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rodelin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rodelin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McCringe's head. Rodelin gets to his feet. McCringe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Rodelin drives through with a takedown into McCringe's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Rodelin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McCringe looking to control.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
