Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilkka Kanerva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanerva comes to the cage accompanied by Sultans of Swing. Will Do is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ilkka Kanerva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Will Do! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanerva misses with an uppercut. Do cracks Kanerva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Ilkka Kanerva has been cut. Do lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kanerva circles away quickly and effectively. Do avoids the head kick by Kanerva.
A nice side step and Do releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Kanerva throws a front kick aimed at Do's knee but Do avoids it well. Do is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Do misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Do jabs Kanerva to the body, keeping him at a distance. Do misses with the combination.
Kanerva takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Do uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kanerva. Do misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Do slips under a jab from Kanerva. Do moves out of range as Kanerva throws a body kick.
Do throws a series of punches but Kanerva moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanerva avoids the body shot from Do.
As Do looks to move away, Kanerva throws a big counter combo bu Do just gets out of the way. Do misses with a two punch combination.
Kanerva throws the kick towards the body but Do avoids it. Do swinging wildly here.
Do misses with a hook
and Kanerva counters with an inside leg kick. Do takes a swing at Kanerva's ribcage but misses. A low kick from Kanerva misses and Do holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Do wants to get back to striking at distance but Kanerva won't allow it.

Do pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice defenses there by Do. Do looks like he wants to counter punch here. Do uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kanerva. Do looks to land a left hand but Kanerva moved out of range nicely. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kanerva lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Do has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Do and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Do pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kanerva back to the cage. Do follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Do slips a jab from Kanerva. Do has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Do uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kanerva. Do throws a counter combo. Kanerva is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Do's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Do throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kanerva sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kanerva was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Do dips to his left and cracks Kanerva with an uppercut! Do throws an overhand right that lands on Kanerva's shoulder, as Kanerva tries to avoid the shot. An attempted straight right counter from Kanerva misses the target. Kanerva misses with a body kick. Do is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Do swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A counter left hand to the body from Kanerva misses its target. Kanerva throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kanerva looks to score with a jab to the body but Do is just out of range. The fighters circling - Kanerva throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kanerva throws a hook but Do blocks it. Kanerva throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Do feints the counter takedown. Kanerva throws a shot from downtown. Do moves away and avoids it. Despite the aggression on Do's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kanerva dodges the punch combination from Do.
Do bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Do misses with the combination.
Do has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kanerva. Kanerva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kanerva swings for the body but Do moves out of range.
Do tries to counter by closing the distance. Do checks the leg kick nicely there.
Do throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Do misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kanerva feinted there with a counter leg kick. Kanerva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Do has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kanerva goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Do getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Nice cross by Kanerva. Kanerva comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kanerva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Do drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kanerva defends it well. Ilkka Kanerva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Do will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A leg kick checked by Do. Kanerva throws a combination that misses and Do counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Do throws an overhand right that drops Kanerva like a sack of potatoes! Do dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Do!
