The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Pollard darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pollard fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dawson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pollard.
Pollard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Pollard.
Dawson goes for a takedown attempt but Pollard pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dawson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dawson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Pollard wants to control but Dawson postures up.
Pollard is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dawson off and has taken his back!
