Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bittor Xavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell. Xavier is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jane's Addiction- Mountain Song. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bittor Xavier! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Xavier shoots in and drives through. Anderson sprawls well. Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into Xavier's guard. Xavier has his foot on Anderson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Anderson works his way back into a safe position though. Anderson throws a big right hand that misses. Xavier keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully. Anderson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Anderson looking to sit in guard and control but Xavier gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Xavier swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Anderson trying to control but Xavier is working from the bottom. Anderson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Anderson is pushing down on Xavier's leg trying to pass to half guard. Xavier is fighting to maintain full guard but Anderson has managed to sneak the leg through. Xavier is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily. Anderson wants to pass the guard but Xavier is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Xavier is refusing to be controlled, as Anderson sits in half guard. Anderson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Xavier keeping hold of Anderson's head, controlling as best he can. Anderson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Xavier is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Xavier is staying active underneath Anderson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Xavier fails with the takedown. Xavier tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Anderson defends well and Xavier ends up having to push Anderson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Anderson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Sparky Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bittor Xavier. Anderson throws a good cross that connects.
Xavier gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Anderson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Anderson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Xavier is keeping the position for now. Sparky Anderson dominated that round. That's time! Anderson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Xavier tries for a takedown but Anderson circles away easily and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Xavier won't be happy with that. Xavier is trying to get back to half guard. Anderson is putting a hurting on Xavier here, landing some big shots from side control. Anderson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Xavier some visible discomfort.
Anderson lands a decent elbow from side control. Anderson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Anderson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

He's being very persistent here but Anderson manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Anderson trying to control but Xavier is working from the bottom. Anderson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Xavier dives on top into guard. Xavier wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Xavier is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Xavier keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Anderson's head. Xavier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Anderson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Xavier has Anderson in his guard. Anderson trying to control but Xavier is working from the bottom. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Anderson is really struggling to control Xavier but he's trying to hold on to the position. Xavier controls Anderson momentarily but Anderson frees himself. Anderson pushes down on Xavier's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Anderson trying to control but Xavier is working from the bottom. Xavier can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anderson controls the pace. Anderson with a flurry of punches that miss. Anderson looking to pass the guard. Anderson is working hard here to advance position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Xavier fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Anderson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Xavier. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Xavier off to one side. The fighters circling - Anderson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Anderson as Xavier shoots in. Anderson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Xavier takes a kick to the side of the head.

He has the arm isolated but Xavier is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Anderson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anderson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Xavier is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Anderson wants to control for a moment but Xavier uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Xavier slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Xavier swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Xavier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Anderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Anderson stands and throws Xavier's legs to the side, diving into side control. Anderson looks up at the clock and then as Xavier takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Anderson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Anderson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Xavier, who protects the arm well. Anderson blocks the strikes from Xavier.

And that's the end of the fight! Sparky Anderson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Anderson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
