24 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Skantze Jr! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skantze Jr moves away from the strike by Rush. Skantze Jr looks to land a combination but Rush avoids it well. Skantze Jr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Nice sprawl there from Skantze Jr as Rush shoots in. A looping hook to the body misses from Skantze Jr. Rush does a little dance to reset his feet. Skantze Jr connects with a body shot that sends Rush's belly button to the back. Skantze Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rush. We've been hearing reports that Rush has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rush tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Skantze Jr swivels and escapes. Skantze Jr misses with a two punch combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rush throws a big right hand that misses. Rush makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rush has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Skantze Jr to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rush is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Skantze Jr pulls down on the head and he's put Rush to sleep! This one is all over!
