Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mako Choliman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Granger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mako Choliman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choliman stuffs the takedown attempt from Granger. Granger gets slowly back to his feet.
Granger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Choliman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Choliman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Choliman wants it to stay on the feet.
Choliman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Granger defends it well.
Granger fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Choliman feints the counter takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Granger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Granger shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Granger shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Choliman's guard.

Granger thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Choliman told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Choliman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Granger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Choliman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Choliman sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Granger is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Granger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Choliman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Choliman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

and Choliman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Granger's guard.

Granger drops back looking for a leg! Choliman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Choliman manages to kick Granger off! Granger jumps back into Choliman's guard.

Choliman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Granger's guard.

Choliman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Choliman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Choliman trying to control the position from guard on top but Granger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Choliman is looking to work some ground and pound but Granger has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Choliman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Granger is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Choliman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Choliman is staying active underneath Granger, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Choliman pushes Granger off looking to stand but Granger dives back in and keeps control.

Granger moves into full mount! Choliman won't be happy about that!

Granger is working for a guillotine from mount but Choliman frees his head quite easily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Choliman wants to hold on but Granger pushes him away.
Choliman stops Granger from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Granger will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Granger shoots for a takedown but Choliman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Granger closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Choliman wants to control but Granger is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Granger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Choliman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Granger wants to take Choliman's back here but Choliman is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Choliman tries to improve his position but Granger has taken his back! Granger has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Choliman tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Granger pushes Choliman away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
