Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iivana Jalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jalo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Aino Venna - Waltz to Paris. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Jalo.
Jalo swings away with a body shot that misses
and Nelson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nelson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It seemed like Nelson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Nelson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jalo seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Jalo takes a swing at Nelson's ribcage but misses.
Some bone on bone action there as Jalo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Jalo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nelson.
Nelson looks to land a right hand but Jalo moved out of range.

Nelson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The fighters circling - Jalo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A little jabbing left from Nelson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jalo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jalo scores with a nice strike.

Nelson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jalo misses with an uppercut.

Jalo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Jalo counters with a straight right hand.

Nelson throws a right hand that Jalo ducks under and follows up with a left that Jalo also avoids with ease.
Nice defenses there by Nelson.
Jalo lands a jab.
Nelson misses with the combination.
Nelson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nelson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jalo throws out the jab.
Jalo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Nelson moves away from the strike by Jalo.
Nelson tries a quick counter leg kick but Jalo is wise to it.
Nelson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nelson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Nelson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nelson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jalo lands with an overhand left.
Jalo looks to throw the jab but Nelson is out of range.
Nelson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jalo.

and Nelson counters with a series of strikes. Jalo will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Jalo counters with a stiff right hand.
Jalo is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Nelson lands with an uppercut that bounces Jalo off the cage and back into range.
Nelson misses with a double jab.
Nelson throws a right hand that misses
and Jalo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nelson moves out of range as Jalo strikes.

Nelson misses with the body kick
and Jalo counters with a nice uppercut.
Nelson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jalo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jalo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Nelson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Jalo counters with a nice right hand that sends Nelson toppling to the canvas! Nelson scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Jalo finish him?!
Nelson is rocked!
Jalo stuns Nelson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nelson is still on wobbly legs! Can Jalo finish him?
Nelson throws a body kick that misses
and Jalo counters with a huge left! Nelson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Jalo isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Nelson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Jalo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iivana Jalo!
