Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
27 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Custer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doctor Doolittle!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doolittle moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Jesse Custer has been cut.
A jab from Doolittle finds it's way through Custer's defenses.
Doolittle gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Doolittle cracks Custer with an open hand slap.
Custer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Doolittle misses with a head kick.
Custer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Doolittle has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Custer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Custer rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Doolittle counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Custer tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Doolittle is able to avoid easily.
A head kick misses from Doolittle.
Custer lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Doolittle misses the shot to the body.
Custer works the jab nicely.
Doolittle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Custer shoots in for a double leg but Doolittle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Doolittle feints a counter leg kick.

Custer looks to throw the jab but Doolittle is out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Custer. That's going to slow Doolittle down.
Custer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Doolittle throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A head kick misses from Custer.
Custer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Doolittle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Custer stuns Doolittle with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Doolittle takes one on the button.
Custer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Custer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Doolittle manages to avoid it.
Custer misses with an uppercut.
Custer tries to land a front kick but Doolittle steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Doolittle thuds a left hand into Custer's body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Doolittle takes one to the side of the head.

Doolittle looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Custer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Doolittle throws out the jab.

Doolittle steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Doolittle throws a sloppy head kick
and Custer counters with a shoot takedown. Doolittle fights it but they end up in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Custer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Custer prevents Doolittle from getting back to his feet.
Custer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Custer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Doolittle pulls Custer in to control the position.
Doolittle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Doolittle wants to stand up but Custer is controlling him.

Custer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Doolittle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Doolittle controls Custer momentarily but Custer frees himself.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Nice uppercut there from Custer.
Jesse Custer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Custer scores with a spinning back kick!
Doolittle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Custer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Doolittle.
Doolittle looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Custer with a lazy takedown attempt
and Doolittle counters with a head kick that drops Custer to the mat! Custer scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Custer is rocked!
Doctor Doolittle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doolittle cracks Custer with a left hook right on the temple and Custer goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Doolittle lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Custer is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doctor Doolittle!
During a confident post fight interview, Doctor Doolittle thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
