25 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Joe Frazier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vyacheslav Kalashnikov! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kalashnikov.
Vyacheslav Kalashnikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Frazier is looking to slow Kalashnikov down with leg kicks. Kalashnikov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Frazier scores with a jab to the head.
Frazier works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kalashnikov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kalashnikov throws a head kick that misses. Decent striking displayed by Frazier there. A nice combination there by Frazier.
Frazier takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. This has been an exciting period of action! Kalashnikov scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Kalashnikov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Kalashnikov staying out of range there. Kalashnikov wants to slow Frazier down by chopping away at his legs. Frazier is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Frazier throws a low kick but Kalashnikov moves out of range easily. Kalashnikov misses with an attempted mid kick.
Frazier looks to score with a jab to the body but Kalashnikov is just out of range. Kalashnikov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A nice inside leg kick there by Kalashnikov. That's going to slow Frazier down. Frazier lands a head shot. Kalashnikov takes a swing at Frazier's ribcage but misses. An attempted straight right counter from Frazier misses the target. Kalashnikov misses with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frazier keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Frazier lands a jab to the nose. Kalashnikov misses with a jab to the body
and Frazier counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Frazier sizes up Kalashnikov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kalashnikov slips a jab from Frazier. Kalashnikov moves out of range of the strikes. And Kalashnikov responds with a good body kick, but Frazier manages to step out the way in time. Frazier is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Frazier is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kalashnikov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kalashnikov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kalashnikov drops his hands momentarily and Frazier takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Frazier scores with a sloppy right hand. Kalashnikov should have avoided that one. Kalashnikov throws a half hearted mid kick. The fighters circling - Kalashnikov throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Frazier takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Frazier avoids the head kick by Kalashnikov.
Kalashnikov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Frazier on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Kalashnikov throws a leg kick but Frazier sees it coming and moves out of range.

Kalashnikov throws a body kick that misses. Frazier looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Frazier scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Frazier lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Frazier lands with a right hand. Kalashnikov walks into a left hand. Frazier is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Kalashnikov shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Frazier thinks about countering with a head kick. Frazier avoids a low kick by using good footwork. As Kalashnikov looks to move away, Frazier throws a big counter combo bu Kalashnikov just gets out of the way. Kalashnikov misses with a body kick. Frazier clobbers Kalashnikov with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. No joy there for Frazier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters circling - Frazier throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A lazy body kick from Kalashnikov enabling Frazier to counter with a crisp jab. Kalashnikov throws a head kick but Frazier moves out of range.
Kalashnikov looks to land a left hand but Frazier moved out of range nicely. Kalashnikov misses with a looping left. Kalashnikov lands with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frazier tries to move into range but Kalashnikov moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kalashnikov looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kalashnikov throws a head kick that misses. Frazier went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. It looks like Frazier has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Frazier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kalashnikov throws a half hearted mid kick. Frazier swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Nice shot by Frazier. Kalashnikov chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Kalashnikov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Frazier scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Frazier sizes up Kalashnikov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kalashnikov getting the better of the striking in that exchange. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kalashnikov tries a head kick but it misses.
Sloppy strikes from Frazier. Those never looked like landing. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Frazier, as that shot connected.
Frazier jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kalashnikov is looking to land body kicks. Frazier lunges at Kalashnikov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kalashnikov's hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frazier sends Kalashnikov crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Frazier is motioning to the referee to let Kalashnikov up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Kalashnikov is rocked! Frazier keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kalashnikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Frazier finish him? Kalashnikov is aggressively charging in as Frazier backs up avoiding any damage. Frazier tosses out a jab and Kalashnikov runs right into it face first! Kalashnikov is out cold! Frazier dropped down on all fours and is barking in Kalashnikov's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe Frazier! Joe Frazier really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Hell's Kitchen Lab Corp (159.49 $75) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
