Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 20 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Callaghan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Junior!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior throws a low kick but Callaghan moves out of range easily.
Callaghan swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Callaghan has Junior up against the cage in a clinch.
Junior is trying to break free.
Junior blocking some punches.
Callaghan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Jorge Junior has been cut.
Callaghan lands an elbow that stopped Junior in his tracks for a moment.
A left hand lands to the body for Callaghan.
Callaghan misses with some punches.
Callaghan pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Junior can't find room to land a body shot as Callaghan controls the action.
Callaghan tries to throw a body punch but Junior avoids it by throwing Callaghan back against the cage.

Callaghan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Junior is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Callaghan to the mat. Callaghan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Junior throwing strikes but missing.
Callaghan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Callaghan keeping full guard, as Junior tries to pass.
Callaghan keeping moving, preventing Junior from controlling successfully.
Junior wants to pass the guard but Callaghan is keeping the position.
Junior throwing strikes from guard but Callaghan blocks nicely.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Junior thows a leg kick but Callaghan checks it
and Callaghan counters with a big head kick but Junior shrugs it off.
Junior misses with a takedown
and Callaghan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


Junior is rocked!
Good work by Junior as he checks the leg kick.
Junior feints the counter takedown.
Junior throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Junior lands with a thumping leg kick.
Junior chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Callaghan tries to clinch up but Junior circles away and keeps his distance.

Callaghan lands a big head kick that sends Junior tumbling to the mat! Callaghan takes a step backwards and waves Junior back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Junior is still on wobbly legs! Can Callaghan finish him?


That has opened up Jorge Junior's cut even more.
Junior throws a low kick but it's checked well by Callaghan.
Callaghan was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Callaghan looks to land a right hand but Junior moved out of range.
Junior seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Junior tries to bum rush Callaghan with a series of wild strikes but Callaghan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It looked like Callaghan was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Junior.
Callaghan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Junior shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Callaghan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Junior sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Junior with the counter takedown but Callaghan avoids it easily.
Junior scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Junior thows a leg kick but Callaghan checks it
and Callaghan counters with a leg kick.
Callaghan moves out of range of the body kick.
Junior listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Callaghan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Callaghan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Callaghan lands a big head kick that sends Junior tumbling to the mat! Callaghan takes a step backwards and waves Junior back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Junior moves out of range of the leg kick from Callaghan.
Callaghan takes one on the button.
Jorge Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Junior lands a head kick!
Junior looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Callaghan is fending him off so far but Junior persists. Nope, Callaghan circles away and we're back to standing.

and Junior counters with a slapping leg kick.

Callaghan lands a big uppercut and Junior crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Junior looks OK. Callaghan waves Junior back to his feet!


The cut above Jorge Junior's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Callaghan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Junior.
A counter left hand to the body from Callaghan misses its target.
Richard Callaghan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Junior.
Callaghan measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Junior! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
