Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darren Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darren Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Julian Thompson! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown has his takedown stuffed and Thompson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Thompson lands an overhand right. We've been hearing reports that Brown has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Thompson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Horrible takedown attempt by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Thompson, which made it look bad. It seemed like Thompson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Brown decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Brown is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thompson sees it coming and defends easily. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thompson can do anything to dispel that myth. Brown tries to pass to full mount but Thompson defends it. Thompson is trying to stand up here but Brown is controlling him well. Brown thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Thompson wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Thompson has managed to free his arm - good work. Thompson is looking to escape. Thompson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brown is trying to work for a kimura. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Brown mounts Thompson! Really nice guard pass there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thompson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brown throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Brown lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Thompson hang on? Brown looking to ground and pound but Thompson is blocking nicely. Brown will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Brown scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Thompson is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Thompson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Brown tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Brown working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Thompson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Brown off and cradles Thompson's limp body as Brown celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Darren Brown! An out of breath Darren Brown thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. In defeat, Julian Thompson stepped up to the mic, saying 'Only god forgives, one day I will get my revenge.'.
