Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Peter Parker!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Parker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Parker.

Parker jumps guard and drags Gates to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Parker trying to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gates stands up over Parker, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Parker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gates is one step ahead there.

Gates trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.

Gates has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Parker is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Parker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gates tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Parker is in Gates's guard.
Parker wants to control from the top but Gates keeps moving.
Parker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parker pushes down on Gates's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Parker wants to stand but Gates has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Parker is looking for a kimura here.
Parker controlling the action here.
Gates keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Parker slows the pace down in half guard.
Parker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gates!
Parker lands a big elbow.
Parker manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gates to take his back!
Parker has good solid back control here.

Parker avoiding Gates 's attempts to control his hands.
Parker is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Gates. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Parker is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Parker patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Parker controlling the positon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gates throws a right and a left that both miss.

Parker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gates is trying to stand.
Gates regains full guard. Nicely done.
Parker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker wants to stand and escape but instead Gates has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Gates knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parker on the ground.
Gates throws a strike but Parker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Parker advances position into side control!

Parker throws an elbow but Gates slips to the side and avoids it well.
Parker controlling the position.
Gates is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Parker is controlling him well.
Parker just content to control the position.
Parker is chipping away with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Parker wants to stand but Gates is controlling his arm.
Gates on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gates tries to improve position but can't.

Parker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Peter Parker has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gates tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Parker wants to get back to his feet but Gates is holding on tight.
Parker lands a big shot there that rocks Gates but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Gates is rocked!
Parker drops a big elbow. That's hurt Gates! More shots from Parker and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Parker!
