PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Judo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uruhara Hatake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Judo comes into the arena with Da Mystery of Chessboxin by Wu-Tang Clan blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Judo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Uruhara Hatake!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Judo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Judo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hatake counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hatake slips under a jab from Judo.
Judo fails to land the takedown.
Hatake is looking for the big counter here.
A swing and a miss from Judo.
Hatake replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Judo blocks it well.
Jack Judo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Judo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hatake throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hatake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hatake lands a nice hook to Judo's body. Judo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Judo throws the left hand but Hatake avoids the punch easily.
Hatake displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Judo throws out the jab.
Judo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Judo lands a slapping body shot.
Hatake ducks under a wild hook from Judo.

Judo clinches up against the cage.
Hatake blocks a body shot from Judo.
Judo can't find room to land a body shot as Hatake controls the action.
Hatake told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Judo throws a punch but it's blocked by Hatake.
Judo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Hatake breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hatake, right into the meat.
Hatake displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Judo throws out the jab.
Judo throws a body punch but Hatake moves out of range.

Judo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Judo lands in his opponent's guard.

Judo with a flurry of punches that miss.

Judo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Judo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hatake preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Judo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Judo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Judo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hatake has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Judo has managed to get both his arms back between Hatake's legs - danger averted.
Judo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hatake manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Judo manages to get himself to full guard.

Hatake wants to control from the top but Judo keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Judo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hatake is looking to work some ground and pound but Judo has wrist control.

Judo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hatake stacks Judo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hatake!

Hatake is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Judo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Judo is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Spartan Elite 24x7, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Judo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hatake off and has taken his back!

Hatake trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Judo looking to break Hatake's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hatake remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Judo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Judo controlling well, preventing Hatake from escaping the position.
Judo is not going to allow Hatake to sit and survive in this position.
Hatake turns into Judo and is now in his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hatake tries to stand but Judo is controlling from the bottom.
Hatake in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Judo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Judo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Judo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Judo wants to sweep here but Hatake controlling him for the moment.

Judo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hatake has picked Judo up and slammed him! Judo can't keep hold of the triangle and Hatake manages to pass to side control!

Judo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Hatake is keen to just control but Judo is a slippery customer.
Hatake is taking a breather. Judo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Judo is trying to get back to full guard.
Hatake seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Judo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hatake stays in close to Judo's body and controls the position.

Judo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Judo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hatake uses it to pass to side control.
Judo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hatake wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hatake wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Judo, who protects the arm well.
Judo tries to bench press Hatake off him but Hatake keeps the position.

Hatake would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hatake wants to control from the top but Judo keeps moving.

Hatake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Judo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hatake has his foot on Judo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Judo works his way back into a safe position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Judo passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Uruhara Hatake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Hatake throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Judo was covering up waiting for the punch and Hatake finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hatake is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Judo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Judo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hatake is just riding it out for now. Judo eventually gives up the hold.

Judo seems to be working for a kimura but Hatake defends the submission attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hatake looks like he's trying to stand up.

Hatake is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Judo pulls his head out easily.
Judo wants to pass to mount but Hatake is defending the position.
Judo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hatake wants to improve his position but Judo is controlling well.

Judo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hatake is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Judo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Judo's back!

I really don't envy Judo right now.

Judo has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Hatake.

I would just about give that final round to Uruhara Hatake.
I think Hatake has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Our winner, Uruhara Hatake, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Jack Judo was interviewed post fight and said 'Can I get a Shucky Ducky Quack Quack?'.
