Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alonso Foreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Hayes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alonso Foreman! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Hugh Johnson and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Hayes with that takedown attempt. Hayes fails with a takedown attempt. Hayes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Foreman to score an easy takedown into full guard. My spies in The Iron Works $500 Elite Coaches inform me that Foreman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Hayes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Foreman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Foreman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hayes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Foreman stacks Hayes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Foreman! Foreman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Foreman controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foreman decides to stand back up. Foreman steps back and let's Hayes get back to his feet. Foreman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Foreman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hayes is trying to get back to half guard. Hayes has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Foreman tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hayes's legs. Foreman in side control, throwing shots but Hayes defends. Foreman throwing shots but missing, from side control. Foreman just content to control the position. Hayes is looking to regain half guard here but Foreman keeps moving and retains side control. Hayes manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayes trying to hold on to Foreman's head to control him but Foreman postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hayes with a poor takedown and Foreman moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hayes is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Foreman pulls him back up using the underhooks. Hayes is trying to drag Foreman to the mat but Foreman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Foreman has Hayes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Foreman pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hayes tumbling to the mat - Foreman dives into Hayes's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Foreman trying to control the position from guard on top but Hayes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Foreman is posturing up here but Hayes has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Foreman tries to roll out but it's too tight and Foreman has to tap! Slick submission there by Hayes!
