Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Lawlor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabe Mykolas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lawlor comes to the cage accompanied by Loser. Gabe Mykolas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Lawlor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabe Mykolas! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mykolas throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Lawlor blocks a jab. Lawlor scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Lawlor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mykolas has escaped the position, nice work there. Lawlor looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mykolas is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Lawlor tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lawlor has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mykolas tries to escape but Lawlor is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mykolas wants to control but Lawlor postures up. Mykolas wants to get back to his feet but Lawlor drags him back down.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lawlor thows a left - swing and a miss! Mykolas wants to clinch. Lawlor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mykolas.

Lawlor ducks under a wild hook from Mykolas. Mykolas tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lawlor is able to avoid easily. Mykolas throws a hook but Lawlor blocks it. Lawlor shoots for a double leg takedown but Mykolas sprawls well. He's pushed Lawlor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mykolas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lawlor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lawlor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mykolas manages to avoid it. Gabe Mykolas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mykolas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lawlor counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Lawlor is breathing heavily. Lawlor wants to free his trapped foot but Mykolas is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mykolas has one foot on Lawlor's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mykolas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mykolas fails to land the takedown. Lawlor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mykolas circles away quickly and effectively. Lawlor swats away the attempt to clinch by Mykolas. Lawlor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mykolas circles away. Mykolas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Mykolas jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mykolas misses with an uppercut. Lawlor saw that one coming. Mykolas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mykolas connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lawlor's hands. Lawlor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lawlor takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Mykolas with a hook. Mykolas tries to bum rush Lawlor with a series of wild strikes but Lawlor uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mykolas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mykolas shoots for a double leg takedown but Lawlor sprawls well. He's pushed Mykolas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mykolas with a poor takedown and Lawlor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Tom Lawlor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabe Mykolas. A punch combination from Mykolas misses. Lawlor throws a combination that misses enabling Mykolas to counter with a crisp jab. Lawlor bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lawlor misses with the combination.

Mykolas throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Lawlor ducks under a wild hook from Mykolas. Mykolas might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Lawlor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mykolas lands a with a good body shot. Lawlor moves out of range as Mykolas strikes. Mykolas just misses with a punch to the body.
Mykolas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lawlor to score with a decent uppercut. Lawlor throws a head kick that half lands.

Tom Lawlor dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lawlor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mykolas tries to avoid it but Lawlor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mykolas to the ground. Mykolas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mykolas throws an overhand right that lands on Lawlor's shoulder, as Lawlor tries to avoid the shot. Lawlor scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mykolas looks like he's trying to stand up.

Lawlor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lawlor decides to stand and escape the position. Mykolas throws a head kick but Lawlor moves out of range.
Mykolas misses with a looping right. Lawlor looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Lawlor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lawlor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mykolas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Lawlor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mykolas counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Lawlor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We're now in half guard. Lawlor is refusing to be controlled, as Mykolas sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawlor has one foot on Mykolas's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mykolas fails with a takedown attempt. Mykolas tries to clinch but Lawlor moves out of range. Mykolas looks to land a combination but Lawlor avoids it well. Mykolas lands with an overhand left. Lawlor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mykolas pushes Lawlor up against the cage in a clinch. Mykolas manages to break the clinch.

Gabe Mykolas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mykolas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Lawlor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mykolas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tom Lawlor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mykolas is working an open guard so Lawlor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Lawlor gets the takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lawlor is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mykolas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mykolas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lawlor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Lawlor staying out of range there. Mykolas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lawlor on the side of the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lawlor misses with a takedown attempt and Mykolas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lawlor's guard. Lawlor is looking for a triangle but Mykolas pushes his legs off easily.
