Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Aguete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aguete's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Los Redondos - El pibe de los astilleros. Sherk has chosen Divinations by Mastodon as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Aguete cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Aguete connects with a leg kick. Sherk looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Aguete throws a sloppy head kick and Sherk moves out of range easily.
Aguete throws a head kick that misses.
Sherk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aguete.
Aguete displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sherk.
As Sherk looks to move away, Aguete throws a big counter combo bu Sherk just gets out of the way.

and Aguete counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rafael Aguete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Sherk.
Sherk shoots in but no luck this time.
As Sherk backs away, Aguete returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Sherk seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Aguete shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Sherk is backing up but Aguete catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Sherk covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Aguete Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rafael Aguete!
Rafael Aguete really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sparta Fightware logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
