The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neves Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Monroe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Neves Jr throws a body shot but no joy.
Neves Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Monroe stuns Neves Jr with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Monroe cracks the inside of Neves Jr's front leg.

Neves Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Monroe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Neves Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
It seemed like Monroe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monroe has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Neves Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Monroe gets double underhooks and turns Neves Jr into the cage.

Neves Jr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Monroe avoids it really well and circles away.

Monroe slaps away a takedown attempt from Neves Jr, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Monroe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Monroe lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Neves Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Monroe sprawls well. Monroe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Neves Jr gets slowly back to his feet.

and Monroe counters with a nice right hand that sends Neves Jr toppling to the canvas! Neves Jr scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Monroe finish him?!

Neves Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Oh Neves Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

OH! Neves Jr has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Monroe smells blood and charges in for the finish! Monroe unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Neves Jr sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kyle Monroe!
A relieved looking Kyle Monroe thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
