The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shango shoots for a takedown but Sharp saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sharp throws out a counter right but Shango avoids it with no problem.
Shango gets a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Shango has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Shango fails to pull guard.
Shango jumps into guard, dragging Sharp to the mat.
Shango tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sharp avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sharp trying to control but Shango is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shango looking for a sweep. Not yet Shango, not yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shango is on top in guard.

Shango pushes down on Sharp's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Shango is trying for a kimura here. Sharp looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Shango wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Papa Shango!
A relieved looking Papa Shango thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
