Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Grant Morrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Khalid Haji! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morrison lands with an overhand left. Haji takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Haji throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Morrison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Haji looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Haji shoots in looking for a takedown but Morrison manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Haji's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Morrison throws a nice looking combination but Haji bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Haji moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Haji is rocked! Haji bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Morrison comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Haji falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Haji was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Grant Morrison! After the fight, Grant Morrison was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
