Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tyron Lawler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Saladin Hussain !
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler misses with a body shot

and Hussain counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lawler wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Hussain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lawler is staying active underneath Hussain , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hussain wants to free his trapped foot but Lawler is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hussain is looking to take a break and control but Lawler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lawler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lawler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lawler tries to get out of the position.

Hussain misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Lawler is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hussain throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You can see the frustration on Lawler's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hussain tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lawler looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Lawler bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lawler is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hussain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hussain drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lawler defends it well.
Lawler swings for the body but Hussain moves out of range.

and Hussain counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lawler is refusing to be controlled, as Hussain sits in half guard.
Hussain looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lawler is trying to maintain the position but Hussain is very close to passing his half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saladin Hussain dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Lawler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hussain moves away.
Lawler shoots in and drives through. Hussain sprawls well.
Nice jab there from Lawler.
Tyron Lawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawler cracks Hussain with an open hand slap.
Hussain 's coach down at Golden Gym 14 Elite Coachs was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hussain 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hussain doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lawler counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Lawler thows a left - swing and a miss!

Hussain drives through with a takedown into Lawler's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hussain is looking to work some ground and pound but Lawler has wrist control.
Hussain has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hussain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawler swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hussain postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lawler is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hussain , into his guard.

Hussain wants to sweep here but Lawler controlling him for the moment.

Hussain is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lawler rolls with it to try and escape but Hussain cranks on the arm and Lawler is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Saladin Hussain !
A relieved looking Saladin Hussain thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
