The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Massa Alcantara works Kell's body with a nice hook.
Sloppy strikes from Massa Alcantara. Those never looked like landing.
Massa Alcantara tests Kell's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Massa Alcantara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kell misses with a body kick.
Massa Alcantara looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Massa Alcantara lands an overhand right.
Massa Alcantara lands a left and a right that send Kell crashing to the mat, dazed. Massa Alcantara thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Justin Kell has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Massa Alcantara's coach down at Fitness elite 24/7 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Massa Alcantara's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Massa Alcantara.
Kell shoots and misses
and Massa Alcantara counters with a nice right hand that sends Kell toppling to the canvas! Kell scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Massa Alcantara finish him?!
Kell is rocked!
Massa Alcantara lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Kell out cold! Kell is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Eduardo Massa Alcantara!
An out of breath Eduardo Massa Alcantara thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
