Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Devon Gilliam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Knock Out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Devon Gilliam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Knock Out!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilliam tries to close the distance and clinch up but Out swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Out fails with a takedown attempt.
Out avoids the head kick by Gilliam.
Out is looking to clinch but Gilliam is avoiding it.
Out darts in trying to clinch

and Gilliam counters with a shoot takedown. Out fights it but they end up in guard.
Out is controlling Gilliam's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gilliam scoring with punches to the head and body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gilliam tries to free his leg and advance position but Out is retaining full guard.
Gilliam seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Out is looking for a triangle but Gilliam pushes his legs off easily.
Out is trying to keep Gilliam in close.
Gilliam tries to stand but Out is controlling from the bottom.
Out is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gilliam stands up over Out, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Out looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gilliam stays in close to Out's body and controls the position.
Gilliam wants to get up but he can't break Out's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gilliam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Out swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Out makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Out.

Gilliam got a little sloppy there for a moment and Out has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gilliam has managed to get both his arms back between Out's legs - danger averted.

Gilliam wants to pass the guard but Out is keeping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Out has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Devon Gilliam dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gilliam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Out manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Out gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gilliam to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Out is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gilliam postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Out is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gilliam, into his guard.

Gilliam is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gilliam tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gilliam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Out doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Out manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gilliam tries to bench press Out off him but Out keeps the position.
Gilliam is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Out can do to turn this around?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gilliam can't do much from the bottom here.
Gilliam is trying to get back to half guard.
Out takes a little break here. Gilliam wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Gilliam is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Out asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Out gets caught napping as Gilliam dives in and scores a takedown. Out manages to retain guard.
Out trying to keep a closed guard but Gilliam is proving a slippery customer.

Out throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Out has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gilliam is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Out throws a head kick but Gilliam moves out of range.
Gilliam wants to clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Devon Gilliam will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Out is looking for a sweep. Gilliam is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gilliam is nestled in close to Out, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Out is persistently looking for the submission but Gilliam is defending it well.
I really don't envy Gilliam right now.

Gilliam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Out on the ground.

Good control from Out.

Knock Out comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gilliam has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
