Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Moonstone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Auro Alves!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moonstone scores with a crisp jab that stopped Alves in his tracks.
Alves tries to clinch
enabling Moonstone to counter with a crisp jab.
Alves with a lazy takedown attempt
and Moonstone counters with a crisp one two that drops Alves! Moonstone thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Alves to his feet! Alves is in big trouble!
Moonstone slips a jab and a cross from Alves.
Alves misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Moonstone holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Alves is trying to maintain a safe position but Moonstone gets an underhook and turns Alves into the cage.
Moonstone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alves has his takedown stuffed
and Moonstone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alves misses with a double jab
and Moonstone moves into the clinch.
Moonstone taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Moonstone has Alves pressed against the cage, preventing Alves from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Moonstone lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Alves looks winded!
Moonstone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alves tries for a takedown but Moonstone circles away easily
enabling Moonstone to counter with a crisp jab.
Major Moonstone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Auro Alves.
Moonstone attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Moonstone tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Moonstone tries to work over Alves's front leg with a kick but Alves checks it.
Auro Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves tries for a takedown but Moonstone circles away easily
and Moonstone counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Moonstone scores with a hook to the body. Alves takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Moonstone lands with a nice body punch.
Moonstone lands a big uppercut and Alves crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Alves looks OK. Moonstone waves Alves back to his feet!
Alves is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moonstone lands a right hook to the body.
Moonstone shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Alves takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Moonstone sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Alves bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Major Moonstone!
A less than humble Major Moonstone misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
