Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
31 - 30 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks with a poor takedown and Shouse counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Brooks fails to land the takedown. Brooks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shouse counters by moving into the clinch. Joshua Shouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Brooks. Shouse is trying to push Brooks away but Brooks has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Shouse is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Shouse jumps guard and drags Brooks to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Brooks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shouse swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks preventing the sweep. Shouse is pulling down on Brooks's head to control his posture. Shouse had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brooks defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks slips nicely into half guard. Shouse manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Brooks keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Shouse is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. That's two minutes gone in the round. Brooks tries for a takedown but Shouse circles away easily and Shouse counters with a nice body shot. Shouse drives through and clinches with Brooks against the cage.

Shouse is trying to control the position but Brooks postures up. Brooks looking to pass the guard. Shouse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shouse tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shouse working for a triangle but Brooks defends it easily.
Brooks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shouse is keeping the position for now. Shouse is wriggling around but Brooks manages to pass to half guard.
Shouse wants to get back to his feet.
Brooks has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Shouse tries to hold on but Brooks pushes him away. Brooks moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shouse has worked his arm free - good work by Shouse !
Shouse manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brooks tries to get to full guard but Shouse has control of the leg. Shouse is working for a kimura but Brooks is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Shouse dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shouse but Shouse pushes him off and we're back to square one. Shouse fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brooks sprawls well initially but Shouse persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Brooks is looking for a sweep. Shouse is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Brooks works his way to full guard. Good work. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Shouse here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Brooks tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brooks keeping moving, preventing Shouse from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brooks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Brooks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shouse swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shouse is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brooks can do to turn this around?

Shouse is looking for a triangle but Brooks pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Brooks stands and throws Shouse 's legs to the side, diving into side control. Shouse is looking for a sweep. Brooks tries to move to mount but Shouse blocks the move with his legs. Brooks works to advance to full mount. Shouse defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks wants to take Shouse 's back here but Shouse is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Brooks goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Shouse is on top in guard.
Shouse throws a big elbow that misses. Shouse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Brooks keeping full guard, as Shouse tries to pass. Shouse wants to control from the top but Brooks keeps moving. Brooks looking for a guillotine here but Shouse defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shouse stopping the sweep attempt from Brooks. Brooks wants to hit a switch here but Shouse passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Brooks there! Brooks bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Brooks passes Shouse 's left leg - he's now in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shouse is trying to maintain the position but Brooks is very close to passing his half guard. Brooks is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shouse ! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Shouse 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
