Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Puno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and General Battery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as General Battery enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Puno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, General Battery!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battery tries a head kick but it misses.
Battery misses with a wild body shot.
Battery is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Puno.
Puno misses the shot to the body.
Battery thows a body shot but no joy.
Battery misses with a hook to the body
and Puno counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Puno looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Battery looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Puno staying out of range there.
Battery throws a head kick that misses
and Puno counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like General Battery has been cut.
Battery walks into a left hand.
Battery is rocked!
Puno forces Battery back against the cage and clinches.
Puno is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Puno.
Nice body punch from Puno.
Puno has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Battery is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Puno is pushing Battery up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Battery's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Puno is trying to break the clinch but Battery has him pressed against the cage.
Puno blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Puno floors Battery with a big punch on the inside! Battery is trying to recover but Puno dives into side control.
Battery is still in real trouble! Can Puno finish him?
Puno advances nicely into full mount.
Puno is working for a guillotine from mount but Battery frees his head quite easily.
Battery seems to have recovered his senses.

Battery really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Puno throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Puno goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Battery is on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Puno has his foot on Battery's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Battery works his way back into a safe position though.
Puno is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Puno seems keen to control Battery's posture.
Puno working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Battery doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Battery manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Puno has his foot on Battery's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Battery works his way back into a safe position though.
Puno has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Battery can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Battery would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Puno wants to control the position but Battery says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Puno is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Puno throws a strike from the bottom but Battery passes into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on General Battery's cut.

Battery misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Puno lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Battery throws a head kick that misses
and Puno counters with a left and a right that stings Battery.
Battery tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Battery throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That has opened up General Battery's cut even more.
Puno takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Puno punishes Battery's body with a nice straight punch.

Puno scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puno tries to score with some ground and pound. Battery controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Battery is not content to let Puno control the position.
Puno tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Puno has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Puno tries to move to mount but Battery blocks the move with his legs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Puno can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Battery is looking to escape.
Puno throws some wild stikes that Battery manages to avoid easily.
Puno looking to secure an arm triangle but Battery defends it well.
Battery wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Puno looking to ground and pound but Battery is blocking nicely.
Battery tries to reverse the position but Puno maintains control.
Puno pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's time! Puno's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Puno counters with a nice double leg into side control. Battery won't be happy with that.
Puno taking a break here but Battery is having none of it and regains half guard.

Battery takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
