Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mr Charcoal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charcoal lands a lovely overhand right.
Charcoal tries for a takedown but Ra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Charcoal shoots in and drives through. Ra sprawls well.
A shot to the body from Charcoal misses
and Charcoal takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A head kick by Charcoal misses

and Ra counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ra is thwarting Charcoal's attempts to control the position.
Ra not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ra is just content to waste time from the top position. Charcoal takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ra trying to control but Charcoal is working from the bottom.
Ra working some strikes from top position.
Charcoal pulls Ra in close to his closed guard and prevents Ra from doing any damage or advancing position.
Ra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Charcoal works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Charcoal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ra postures up.
Charcoal seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Charcoal pulls Ra in close to prevent any damage.
Ra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Charcoal works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ra is in close to Charcoal's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Charcoal looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ra is looking to work some ground and pound but Charcoal has wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ra fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Charcoal manages to avoid it.
Charcoal throws a solid leg kick but Ra takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Charcoal.
Ra tries to bum rush Charcoal with a series of wild strikes but Charcoal uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Charcoal swings for the body but Ra moves out of range.
And Ra tries to counter it with a takedown but Charcoal pushes his down on his head and steps out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Charcoal cracks the inside of Ra's front leg.
Charcoal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ra as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Charcoal. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Charcoal takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Charcoal keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ra.
Ra throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Charcoal bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ra misses with a straight left.
Charcoal throws a right and a left that Ra avoids nicely.
Ra avoids a punch combination nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Ra counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Charcoal.
Charcoal takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Charcoal lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Charcoal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A little jabbing left from Ra on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Ra takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Ra looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Charcoal trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Charcoal keeping moving, preventing Ra from controlling successfully.
Ra preventing the sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Charcoal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ra tries to free his leg and advance position but Charcoal is retaining full guard.
Charcoal is trying to control the position but Ra postures up.
Charcoal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ra holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Charcoal tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ra knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ra is looking for a sweep. Charcoal is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Charcoal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ra keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amun Ra dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Charcoal clobbers Ra with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Charcoal misses with an uppercut. Ra saw that one coming.
Ra appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Mr Charcoal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ra fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ra keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Charcoal.
Charcoal uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ra.
Charcoal dives in and grabs Ra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ra pushes down on Charcoal's head and hops out.
Amun Ra seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Charcoal scores with a one two! Ra had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Charcoal looks to land a right hand but Ra moved out of range.
Ra with the counter takedown but Charcoal avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charcoal throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ra stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Charcoal.
Ra darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ra fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ra uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Charcoal has time to react.
Ra misses with a body punch
and Charcoal counters with a three punch combo that has Ra backing up. Ra nods at Charcoal to acknowledge the strikes.


Ra is rocked!
Charcoal steps in with a hook that catches Ra right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Charcoal follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Ra looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mr Charcoal!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Mr Charcoal waved his t-shirt featuring ONI's logo in front of the cameras.
