Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay looking to score a takedown here. Rojas is defending well but Jay drives through and ends up in Rojas's guard.
Rojas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rojas looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jay flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rojas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jay defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jay is trying to stand back up but Rojas is controlling him

Jay is doing well to control the position and prevent Rojas from advancing to side control.
Rojas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rojas wants to work for an arm triangle but Jay is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jay can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rojas thows a huge punch but Jay dodges it nicely.
Rojas throwing shots but Jay is blocking nicely.
Jay is trying to maintain the position but Rojas is very close to passing his half guard.
Rojas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rojas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rojas seems to be looking for submissions.
Jay kicks off Rojas and gets to his feet.
Jay manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rojas on his heels. He'll look to pass Rojas's guard now, I'm sure.
Rojas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rojas wants to stand and escape but Jay is having none of it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jay's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jay with a nice head shot there.
Rojas is rocked!
Jay drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rojas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jay has Rojas in his guard.
Oh Rojas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jay has his feet on Rojas's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Jay moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Rojas! Jay continues to tee off on Rojas, landing with a left and a right! Jay connects with a right hand that leaves Rojas sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Jay!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jones Jay!
