Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Buck Futter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jasun Wharton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buck Futter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jasun Wharton!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wharton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Futter attempts a counter takedown but Wharton avoids it well and moves away.
Futter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Wharton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've been hearing reports that Futter has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Futter takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wharton ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Wharton jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Wharton decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wharton is looking to advance position but Futter won't allow it.

Wharton wants to take a breather but Futter is having none of it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Wharton working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Futter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wharton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wharton's back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Futter controlling the positon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wharton breaks Futter's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Futter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Futter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wharton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wharton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Wharton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Futter is looking for a triangle here but Wharton uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Wharton is trying to get an arm triangle but Futter is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Wharton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Futter, who protects the arm well.
Wharton throws an elbow but Futter slips to the side and avoids it well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Futter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wharton connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Futter some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jasun Wharton dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Wharton uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

A little jabbing left from Wharton on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Futter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wharton's guard.

Futter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wharton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Futter has managed to get both his arms back between Wharton's legs - danger averted.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Futter shoots for a takedown but Wharton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wharton appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Wharton's corner calls for a 1-2. Wharton obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wharton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Futter half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and Wharton counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buck Futter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Futter walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wharton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Futter shoots in looking for a takedown. Wharton tries to sprawl out of it but Futter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wharton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jasun Wharton.
I think Wharton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
