The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akona goes for a double leg but Vanders avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vanders continues to drive forward.
Vanders throws a counter combo.
Vanders looks to land a combination but Akona avoids it well.
Akona slips a jab and a cross from Vanders.
Akona fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oooooh!!! Vanders has knocked Akona down with a huge combo! Vanders steps away and waves a wobbly Akona back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Vanders tries to work over Akona's front leg with a kick but Akona checks it.
Vanders tries a low kick but Akona avoids it.
Akona shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vanders as he avoids it easily.

Akona shoots in looking for a takedown but Vanders manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Akona's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vanders throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Akona ducks under a wild hook from Vanders.

Akona attempts a counter takedown but Vanders avoids it well and moves away.
Vanders clobbers Akona with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Akona misses with a takedown attempt
and Vanders comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Akona stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Vanders is on him like rabid pit bull! Akona slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
