Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jefferson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Belmiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Belmiro is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Belmiro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Belmiro is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Belmiro tries for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Belmiro has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Belmiro fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Belmiro is now in Silva's guard.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Belmiro controls the pace.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Belmiro manages to get himself to full guard.

Belmiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Silva drops back looking for a leg! Belmiro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Belmiro manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Belmiro's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Belmiro has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Silva is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Belmiro forces Silva back against the cage and clinches.

Belmiro wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Belmiro persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.

Belmiro has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Belmiro is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Belmiro to sleep! This one is all over!
