Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Duncan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Heart Breaker! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duncan shoots in but Breaker avoids the takedown attempt easily. Breaker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A little jabbing left from Breaker on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Breaker lands a jab. Breaker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Breaker connects with a body shot. Duncan shoots for a double leg takedown but Breaker sprawls well. He's pushed Duncan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Duncan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jab by Breaker. Duncan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Breaker moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Duncan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Duncan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Breaker defends well and Duncan ends up having to push Breaker into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Duncan is breathing heavily. Breaker fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Duncan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Breaker lands with a nice body punch. Duncan walks into a left hand. Breaker feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Duncan sprawling to the canvas! Duncan rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Breaker finish him?!
It looks like Eddie Duncan has been cut. Breaker has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Breaker is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Duncan rather than just go for the knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Breaker scores with a nice strike. Breaker ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Duncan's jaw. Duncan's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Breaker does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Heart Breaker!
