Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tuberculo Meningitis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Carter! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter takes a swing at Meningitis's ribcage but misses. Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meningitis. Meningitis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Meningitis tries for a takedown but Carter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Meningitis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tuberculo Meningitis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meningitis's guard. Meningitis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Meningitis is retaining full guard. Meningitis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carter sitting in guard here, content to control. Carter wants to control from the top but Meningitis keeps moving. Meningitis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carter tries to stand but Meningitis is controlling from the bottom. Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Meningitis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Meningitis working for a triangle but Carter defends it easily.
Carter looking to pass the guard. Carter is looking to work some ground and pound but Meningitis has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Meningitis keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully. Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Meningitis is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carter controlling the position from side mount. Carter decides to stand back up. Carter steps back and let's Meningitis get back to his feet. Carter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carter controlling from the top position. Carter lands a couple of digs. Meningitis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Meningitis is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter controls from within his opponent's guard. Meningitis working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Carter has passed into half guard!
Carter lands strikes from half guard. Meningitis looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Carter controlling the action here. Meningitis taking some punishment here, with Carter in his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Carter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Carter misses with a few strikes there.
Carter with a nice cross. Meningitis has his takedown stuffed and Carter counters with a straight right hand. Andrew Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter lands with an overhand left. Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Meningitis moves away. Meningitis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Meningitis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Carter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carter is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Carter content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter stopping the sweep attempt from Meningitis. Carter stands and throws Meningitis's legs to the side, diving into side control. Meningitis tries to improve position but can't. Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meningitis keeps working. Meningitis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Carter has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Carter throws a right hand that Meningitis ducks under and follows up with a left that Meningitis also avoids with ease. Meningitis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carter counters with a shoot takedown. Meningitis fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tuberculo Meningitis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meningitis looking for subs off his back but Carter has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Meningitis defend it? Carter steps over the head and cranks it - Meningitis is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Carter!
