Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Babak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiri Parata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parata has chosen Rumplestiltskin as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohammed Babak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiri Parata! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Parata lands a nice looking body shot.
Babak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parata can do anything to dispel that myth. Parata on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Parata trying to control from the bottom.
Parata is not content to let Babak control the position. Parata wants to improve his position but Babak is controlling well.
Parata looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parata wants to control but Babak is keeping busy.

Parata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Babak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Parata is trying to maintain the position but Babak is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ground and pound from Babak. Babak working over Parata with some ground and pound. Parata looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Babak winds up and cracks Parata with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Babak trying to pass the guard but Parata defending well. Parata is refusing to be controlled, as Babak sits in half guard. Babak seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We've been hearing that Babak has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Babak is trying to work for a kimura but Parata is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Parata is trying to get back to full guard. Parata has hold of Babak's hands but Babak slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Babak prevents Parata from improving his position. Babak takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Babak landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Parata tries to roll over but Babak keeps him under control. Babak trying to control from half guard but Parata is working away. Parata is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Babak scores with a couple of nice shots. Babak lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Babak prevents Parata from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babak with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Babak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parata is just riding it out for now. Babak eventually gives up the hold. Parata is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Babak is thwarting Parata's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Parata is trying to get back to full guard. Babak wants to control but Parata is keeping him busy. Babak is taking a breather. Parata says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Babak is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Babak lands strikes from half guard. Babak is thwarting Parata's attempts to control the position. Parata is trying to control but Babak manages to pass to mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Babak looking for a guillotine from mount but Parata is having none of it. Babak pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mohammed Babak dominated that round. That's time! Babak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Babak has a takedown stuffed. Babak fails with a takedown attempt. Parata lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Babak fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohammed Babak. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babak with a lazy takedown attempt and Parata counters with a slapping leg kick. Parata throws a series of punches but Babak avoids them all with ease. Parata feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Babak's calf. Babak gets a double leg takedown into Parata's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babak preventing the sweep. Parata keeps trying to improve his position. Babak works over Parata with some ground and pound from guard. Babak is in close to Parata's body, working some short punches and elbows. Parata has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Babak has passed into side control.
Babak working the ground and pound. Parata being controlled for a moment. Parata is looking for a sweep. Babak has hold of Parata's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Parata seems comfortable defending it but Babak has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Parata is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Parata is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Babak couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mohammed Babak! Mohammed Babak retains his middleweight title! Mohammed Babak made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Im here to take over!'.
