PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antoine Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wallace might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pray by Jay-Z feat. Rob Dougan. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doom misses with an attempted mid kick.
Wallace appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Doom misses with a wild combination.

Wallace has closed the distance and engaged Doom in a clinch.
Wallace is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Wallace misses with a hook to the ribs.
Doom can't get the takedown.
A short uppercut from Doom.
Wallace gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Doom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Doom has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Some bone on bone action there as Doom checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Wallace counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Good leg kick by Wallace there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Doom takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wallace is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Doom.

Antoine Wallace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Doom.
Doom uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wallace.

Wallace has Doom pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wallace pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Doom tumbling to the mat - Wallace dives into Doom's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wallace is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Doom defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doom pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wallace back to the cage. Doom follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
BOOM! Doom connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Wallace is rocked!
Wallace is looking to improve his position but Doom isn't that keen on the idea.
Doom softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Wallace is out cold! Doom jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
