Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Meade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Voronkoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voronkoff has chosen System of a Down-Aerials as his entrance music. Andrey Voronkoff acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meade gets caught flat footed, as Voronkoff shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Meade is trying to keep Voronkoff in close.
We've been hearing good reports from Meade's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Voronkoff is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Meade is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Meade chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Voronkoff can pounce on him.

Voronkoff got a little sloppy there for a moment and Meade has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Voronkoff has managed to get both his arms back between Meade's legs - danger averted.

Meade is not content to let Voronkoff control the position.

Voronkoff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meade keeps working.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Voronkoff decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Meade tries to bum rush Voronkoff with a series of wild strikes but Voronkoff uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Meade throws a right and a left that both miss.

Meade fails to land with a series of punches.
Meade misses with a wild combination.
Meade lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Voronkoff at a distance.

Voronkoff throws a nice looking combination but Meade bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A counter left hand to the body from Meade misses its target.
Voronkoff throws out a loose jab but Meade uses good head movement to avoid it.
It looked like Meade wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Meade misses with a double jab.
Meade sets himself, and Voronkoff steps forward looking for the clinch! Meade avoids it this time.
Voronkoff misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Voronkoff is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Meade's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meade wants to improve his position but Voronkoff is controlling well.
Meade is in trouble now - Voronkoff has advanced to mount!
Meade is squirming around, avoiding Voronkoff's attempts to control the action.
Meade tries to lock up and control but Voronkoff gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Poor strikes thrown by Voronkoff there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Voronkoff rushes Meade and presses him up against the cage.

Voronkoff turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Voronkoff manages to end up in side control.
Meade can't do much from the bottom here.
Meade tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Voronkoff tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Meade is looking to reverse the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Voronkoff tries to advance position but instead Meade slips a leg back in to half guard.
Meade wants to control but Voronkoff is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Voronkoff has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Voronkoff is nestled in close to Meade, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Voronkoff gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Meade takes a swing at Voronkoff's ribcage but misses.
Meade will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Voronkoff unleashes a big counter combination but Meade bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Voronkoff looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Voronkoff shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Meade is trying to defend but Voronkoff finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Meade is trying to get back to full guard.

Voronkoff working over Meade with some ground and pound. Meade looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Voronkoff is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Voronkoff uses his free foot to push down on Meade's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Meade.
Meade swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Meade wants to hold on but Voronkoff pushes him away.
Voronkoff breaks from Meade's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big strike lands for Voronkoff! That's really hurt Meade and he's turned his back - Voronkoff keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Voronkoff jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
