Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soren Bammerthwaite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Soren Bammerthwaite! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bammerthwaite defends it nicely. Bammerthwaite throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range. Silva defending well as Bammerthwaite loads up on a big left hand. Silva shoots in and drives through. Bammerthwaite sprawls well. Bammerthwaite looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range. A big left from Bammerthwaite misses. Bammerthwaite throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bammerthwaite misses with a looping right. Bammerthwaite moves into the clinch. Bammerthwaite gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bammerthwaite perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries to get to full guard but Bammerthwaite has control of the leg. Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Silva trying to control here.
Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bammerthwaite pulls his head out easily. Silva tries to get to full guard but Bammerthwaite has control of the leg. Bammerthwaite looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva is refusing to be controlled, as Bammerthwaite sits in half guard. Bammerthwaite is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Bammerthwaite wants to pass to mount but Silva is defending the position. Silva wants to control but Bammerthwaite is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bammerthwaite looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bammerthwaite wants to control but Silva postures up. Bammerthwaite might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bammerthwaite is looking for a sweep. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bammerthwaite knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Bammerthwaite is defending well. Bammerthwaite is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bammerthwaite sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Soren Bammerthwaite will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bammerthwaite ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Silva moves away. Bammerthwaite pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Silva takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Bammerthwaite tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Soren Bammerthwaite seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horrible takedown attempt by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Bammerthwaite, which made it look bad. Silva shoots for a takedown but Bammerthwaite saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bammerthwaite has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Bammerthwaite gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bammerthwaite trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. Bammerthwaite stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bammerthwaite avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bammerthwaite has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bammerthwaite is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Bammerthwaite to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Roberto Silva! Roberto Silva seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
