Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikita Cherkasky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Scott! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cherkasky gets the takedown into side control. Scott gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The referee warns Scott that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Scott wants to get back to his feet.
Cherkasky looking to control but Scott is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Scott is trying to stand. Cherkasky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scott is looking to escape. Scott is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.
BOOM! Cherkasky connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Scott wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Scott is squirming around, avoiding Cherkasky's attempts to control the action. Scott bucks Cherkasky off and manages to get back to his feet! Scott closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Cherkasky tries to pull guard but Scott forces him back to his feet, against the ropes. Cherkasky manages to break the clinch.
Cherkasky darts in looking for a takedown but Scott gets double underhooks and turns Cherkasky into the ropes. Nikita Cherkasky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scott is looking to clinch. Scott wants to clinch. Scott has managed to clinch.
Scott misses with a short punch on the inside. Cherkasky changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Scott fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikita Cherkasky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cherkasky darts in looking for a takedown but Scott gets double underhooks and turns Cherkasky into the ropes. Scott with the counter takedown but Cherkasky avoids it easily. Cherkasky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cherkasky off to one side. Cherkasky gets tackled into the ropes by Scott. Scott maintains the clinch. Cherkasky tries to circle away but Scott has him pinned against the ropes. Scott scores with an uppercut up the middle. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scott's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Scott looks to land a combination but Cherkasky avoids it well. A decent looking cross lands there for Scott.
It looks like Nikita Cherkasky has been cut. Cherkasky is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Cherkasky shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scott pinned against the ropes. Scott gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cherkasky is breathing heavily. Scott lands a big right hook! Cherkasky looks hurt but is still standing! Scott lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Cherkasky falls down and Scott dives in with a huge hammer fist! Cherkasky's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Scott runs up the ropes to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Andy Scott! In his post fight interview, Andy Scott started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
