Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Sphinx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Sphinx is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy blocks a head kick by Sphinx.
Roy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Sphinx throws the kick towards the body but Roy avoids it.
Sphinx shoots in but Roy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Roy attempts a counter takedown but Sphinx avoids it well and moves away.
We've been hearing reports that Roy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Some bone on bone action there as Roy checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Sphinx shoots for a double leg takedown but Roy sprawls well. He's pushed Sphinx's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sphinx misses with a takedown attempt - Roy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Brandon Roy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Sphinx.
Roy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sphinx sprawls well initially but Roy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sphinx does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sphinx makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sphinx.
Sphinx is trying to keep Roy in close.

Sphinx throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Roy is posturing up here but Sphinx has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Roy tries to roll out but it's too tight and Roy has to tap! Slick submission there by Sphinx!
