Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Pulse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Saintly Fish! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish misses with a takedown attempt - Pulse sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. It looked like Pulse wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Pulse lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Fish backs up against the cage.
Pulse seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Excellent takedown into side control there by Fish. Fish tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Fish trying to control the position but Pulse is working away. Pulse is looking to regain half guard here but Fish keeps moving and retains side control. Fish looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulse is trying to improve his position. Fish is trying to get an arm triangle but Pulse is defending well. Fish wants to control but Pulse is keeping him busy. Pulse is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pulse wants to control but Fish postures up. Fish tries for a kimura but Pulse is defending well. Fish is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pulse has escaped the position, nice work there. Fish is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pulse is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fish is trying to get an arm triangle but Pulse is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fish working the ground and pound. Pulse really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pulse defending against the ground and pound. Fish looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Fish working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Fish has an Americana. Pulse didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fish is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fish hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
