Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Floyd Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Floyd Howard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howard shoots in but Brooks avoids the takedown attempt easily. Brooks shoots in for a takedown but Howard shows good takedown defense. A momentary lapse in concentration from Brooks enables Howard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brooks manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Howard trying to control but Brooks is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Howard stopping the sweep attempt from Brooks. Howard is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks is looking to sweep but instead, Howard has passed into half guard.
Brooks gets back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks is looking for a triangle but Howard pushes his legs off easily.
Brooks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Howard postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Howard controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Howard preventing the sweep. Brooks is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Howard wants to control from the top but Brooks keeps moving. Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Howard looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Brooks keeping moving, preventing Howard from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Howard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Howard moves into the clinch successfully.
Howard is pushing Brooks up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Howard is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Brooks can't fight it off and eventually Howard manages to take the fight to the floor. Brooks looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howard is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Brooks has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Howard is looking to defend but Brooks has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Howard! Brooks pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Howard taps out and this one is all over!
