Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Touko Unikeko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yan Beliveau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Unikeko's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Gesaffelstein - Opr. Yan Beliveau has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Touko Unikeko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Touko Unikeko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yan Beliveau!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beliveau tries to clinch but Unikeko is having none of it.

Unikeko has taken the fight to the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Unikeko creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Beliveau is trying to push Unikeko away but Unikeko has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Unikeko lands a left hand.

Unikeko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beliveau chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Unikeko can pounce on him.
Unikeko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Beliveau tries to clinch but Unikeko moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Beliveau has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Unikeko lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Beliveau tries to clinch up but Unikeko circles away and keeps his distance.
Beliveau tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Unikeko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Unikeko swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Unikeko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Unikeko showed some decent athleticism there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Unikeko is thwarting Beliveau's attempts to control the position.
We've been hearing that Unikeko has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Unikeko lands a nice short elbow.

Unikeko is trying to control the action in half guard but Beliveau is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Unikeko frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Beliveau really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Unikeko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Unikeko tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Beliveau can't escape the position.
Unikeko has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Beliveau's face.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beliveau tries to reverse the position but Unikeko maintains control.
Unikeko connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Unikeko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Unikeko lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Unikeko breaks from Beliveau's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Beliveau is rocked!
Unikeko avoids the attempt from Beliveau to control.

Beliveau is still in real trouble! Can Unikeko finish him?
Beliveau is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Unikeko controlling his opponent.
Unikeko fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
A big strike lands for Unikeko! That's really hurt Beliveau and he's turned his back - Unikeko keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Unikeko jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Touko Unikeko!
